It was the first RAF production aircraft to break the 300mph barrier and the first monoplane fighter equipped with multiple guns in RAF service. During the Battle of Britain, thirty-two Squadrons of Hurricanes were deployed, where this extraordinary aircraft demonstrated its capabilities in defending the skies over England against the Luftwaffe, securing its legendary status in World War II.
